We all experience stress within our lives, my journey into massage therapy began a few years ago after experiencing how stress can strongly affect you as a whole person. More and more I came to realise that the condition of the body and mind can have a great impact upon one another. I soon came to discover that massage can hugely benefit us physically and psychologically, therefore I set out to learn more about this healing, holistic therapy.
After working for 4 years as a primary school teacher, I studied for a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and a Level 3 diploma in body massage at St Mary's University. However being no stranger to the aches and pains of sore, tight muscles, from years of training and competing in swimming and kickboxing, I immediately went on to study sports massage: This furthered my knowledge of the anatomy of muscles and deep tissue massage techniques.
More recently I trained in pregnancy massage at St Mary's which then sparked my interest in baby massage. As a former primary school teacher (and before that, nanny to a baby) I wanted to make use of the knowledge and enjoyable experience I gained from this work. I therefore attended the London School of Massage where I qualified as a baby massage instructor.
I am also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists which requires continued professional development and I hold full professional insurance
I believe through looking after ourselves, we can gain confidence, experience a more physically and mentally comfortable lifestyle and are far better able to cope with the stressful situations life throws at us.
